The Hub Club aims to inspire and encourage
more people to go online
and to support those who need a helping hand.

Did you know that average household savings of
£560 a year
can be made by shopping and paying bills online?

The UK has 40 million adult internet users and 30 million of us use the web every day. The 8.7 million people in the UK who have never been online are already missing out on big consumer savings, access to information and education. They will be even more isolated and disadvantaged as government and industry expand ever faster into digital-only services.

So if you know somebody who isn't online but would like to be, we can help them to get started, or if you are already using the internet we can answer your questions and give you a hand when you need a bit of help.

We are happy to answer all your questions on computing and the internet.

Visit our Speak Out! Q & A forum!

If you prefer, you can click here to ask a question, or contact Gwen or Sylvia directly (see below).

Watch out for details of our forthcoming Workshop sessions on the Hoathly Hub!

Unfortunately we have had to discontinue our weekly pop-in sessions due to lack of demand.

At the Hub Club we have a passion for computers and we want to help you to get online and enjoy all the benefits.
Here are just a few examples of the tasks we can assist you with:

Your home...

  • Find the perfect recipe
  • Have your groceries delivered
  • Buy almost anything from Amazon
  • Sell unwanted items on Ebay
  • Never miss an episode with iPlayer

Your work...

  • Smarten up your CV
  • Create a spreadsheet
  • Job hunting from your armchair
  • Research virtually any topic

Your holiday...

  • See your resort on Google Earth
  • Get recommendations on Trip Advisor
  • Book your flight and check-in
  • Create a photo album

NB: We don't sell anything - we are volunteers who want everyone to reap the benefits of being online.
If there is a topic you would like us to cover in a Hub Club workshop session, please click here and tell us.
We do NOT run training courses; we simply help you to use a computer to achieve what YOU want to do.

I am Sylvia Downe and I have been a resident of Highbrook for more than 29 years. I have been a computer programmer since I left school working mainly for large financial companies. I have contributed to a large variety of projects, mostly as a member of the technical team and often with project management and training responsibilities.
In the past few years I have been free to pursue my own projects. One of these is the Hoathly Hub which I devised, designed and programmed, and I am currently the Hub Administrator.
