Litter dumping

Personal Opinion

Author: Kate Thompson

Published: Thursday, 11th January 2018

Has anyone else noticed the significant increase in rubbish that is being left at the sides of Hamingden and Highbrook Lane over the past few weeks? The layby on Hamingden Lane just after you leave the Selsfield Road is now being used as a litter dump and we have picked up 3 black plastic bin liner bags full of rubbish from there in the past 2 weeks.

Also, along Highbrook Lane there is an increasing number of bottles and cans being thrown onto the roadside between Grovelands Farm and West Hoathly. In the last week we have collected 11 empty Vodka bottles and over 20 empty lager cans as well as a number of empty wine bottles. Is there anything we can do to stop our local community being used as a tip for other people's rubbish? We don't mind picking up the odd can or bottle whilst we're out walking but this is becoming intolerable.
